Vaping has grown in popularity over the past 10+ years. More and more people are using vaporizers, also known as “weed vapes” or “vapors”, either to quit smoking or otherwise reduce their cigarette consumption. This has brought the discussion of whether vaping is a safer alternative to smoking back into the limelight.
What is a weed vape?
A weed vape is essentially the same thing as a weed vaporizer. It is an electronic device which heats up dry herbs or other pieces of cannabis to a high temperature without actually burning them. It is often called by the brand name of its most prominent manufacturer, “the Volcano”.
How Does it Work?
Weed vapes work through a simple mechanism: they use convection heating to heat up the cannabis to a high temperature without burning it. This is unlike a traditional dry herb vaporizer, which literally heats the cannabis via combustion. The convection heating of a weed vape results in the condensation of vapor from the cannabis, taking advantage of its moisture content.
Why Use a Weed Vaporizer?
There are several benefits of using a weed vape over a traditional dry herb vaporizer. Some of them include:

The most obvious benefit of using a weed vape is that it’s a healthier alternative to smoking. It produces no smoke and no odor, putting users at a lower risk of cancer, lung disease, etc. The vapor produced from a weed vape is mostly composed of water and aromatic terpenes, which is by far the most pleasant way to inhale cannabis.

A weed vape is typically more discreet than a traditional dry herb vaporizer, since it produces no smell. This means that you can use it indoors without worrying about the smell.
iii. More Convenient
You can use a weed vape while driving and at work without worrying about getting busted. Many people use it while they are at the office as well, which greatly simplifies the process of inhaling cannabis.
iv. Efficient
Weed vapes offer a more efficient delivery of cannabinoids than traditional dry herb vaporizers. This is because dry herb vaporizers with a conduction heating mechanism have poor air flow that significantly reduces the efficiency of their delivery.
The use of a weed vape is a popular option for many people. Vaping has become a more accepted method of inhaling cannabis but we still have a long way to go. For now, though, it’s safe to say that vaping is better than smoking. It is more efficient, safer and healthier compared to smoking.
